NRCS Texas Civil Rights Policy Statement
As State Conservationist for the Texas Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), I fully support the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) and the agency's civil rights, equal employment opportunity, and diversity policies and programs.
NRCS employees and the public we serve must always be treated in a fair, non-discriminatory, and equitable manner. Discrimination in any form based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, sexual orientation, disability, marital or familial status, political beliefs, parental status, receipt of public assistance, or protected genetic information will not be tolerated. Employees and customers must be free from reprisal or harassment in the pursuit of fairness and equal employment opportunities.
I expect every employee to respect, support, and demonstrate a commitment to civil rights, equal employment opportunity, and diversity policies. Each employee is to do their part to ensure that all applicants for assistance, customers, partners, stakeholders, and other employees are provided equal access to the opportunities, programs, and services available through NRCS.
We all must strive to create an inclusive atmosphere in which every employee is respected, valued, and trusted which will result in a professional work environment and is rich in talent, ideas, background, and experience; and that respects the differences and embraces the diversity of employees and customers alike.
