The Western Regional Cooperative Soil Survey Conference starts at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 16th, and concludes about 3-4 p.m. on June 19th.

No registration fee, but need to register!
To register, e-mail Thor Thorson at email@example.com. In the e-mail, let Thor know if you would prefer salmon or steak for the Tuesday evening dinner. (Dinner is included at no charge.)
The following is provided for registered participants: refreshments at breaks, lunch on June 16, dinner on June 17, and seat on the tour bus and box lunch on June 18. PLEASE NOTE: NRCS staff not on travel but planning to attend the conference will need to pay for lunch on June 16 and dinner on June 17.

University Place Hotel in downtown Portland, on the corner of 4th and Lincoln Streets.
NEED TO RESERVE ROOM BY MAY 15th; after that, the remaining rooms will be released.

Room rate is $94.00 per night plus tax AND includes a buffet breakfast. (Same room rate for one or two people per room.)
Thirty rooms are reserved (20 Kings and 10 Doubles).
Parking is available at the rate of $15.00 per 24 hours.
PD rate in Portland is $126 room and $66 MIE.
TRAVEL FROM AIRPORT
Purchase a MAX line light rail ticket at “vending” station near luggage pick-up. Cost is $ 2.50. Board the train (red line) and get off at the downtown SW Mall and 5th Street Station (ride will be about 30 minutes). At the Mall station, get off and onto a Yellow or Green light rail line going south on 5th Street (no need to purchase new ticket) and stay on until the end of the line at 5th and Jackson Street Station. Walk ½ block south on 5th to Lincoln Street and then walk one block west on Lincoln Street to the facility (University Place Hotel).
