2010 North Central Regional Soil Survey Conference
June 14-17, 2010
The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio
Ohio is proud to host the 2010 North Central Regional Soil Survey Conference. The NCSS Conference will run from 1 p.m., Monday, June 14 through noon, Thursday, June 17. The conference will be held at the University Plaza and Conference Center, close to the OSU campus. In addition to the conference facility, there are a variety of nearby alternative accommodations, dining, and activity options. Technical sessions and committee discussions will focus on challenging soil survey related issues including Ecological Site Inventory and Description, soil survey in urban and highly disturbed areas, and dynamic soil properties. A highlight of the conference will be a field tour on Wednesday, June 16. The tour will include a visit to the USDA/ARS North Appalachian Experimental Watershed, the site of more than 70 years of research in areas such as soil hydrology, land management, carbon sequestration, and earthworms. The field tour will also emphasize the soil and landscape diversity of central and eastern Ohio, traversing a variety of glacial and bedrock influenced landscapes.

Posters can be displayed the first day of the meeting and remain on view for the duration. Presenters will be invited to discuss their posters during break periods.
