Take Your Child to Work Day is a national event held every year on the fourth
Thursday in April. the program was started by the Ms.
Foundation for Women in 1993 to set aside a day to bring girls and young
women into the workplace to mentor and inspire the next generation of women who
will work in the world. The Federal Government has expanded the program
encouraging employees to bring their children, both boys and girls, to work with
them for the day. Employees are encouraged to use this opportunity to
expose young people age 9 to 15, to the occupations and career choices available
at the USDA.
