WARWICK, RI (April 3, 2012) -- The United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service of Rhode Island (USDA NRCS) is accepting applications for Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies. Grants of up to $75,000 will be awarded through a competitive grants process with up to $125,000 to be awarded statewide.
Six CIG categories are available in Rhode Island: Nutrient Management; Energy Conservation; Soil Health; Wildlife; Urban and Small Farms; and Aquaculture. Applications are requested from eligible government or non-government organizations or individuals for competitive consideration of grant awards for projects between one and three years in duration. Applications will only be considered for projects in Rhode Island.
Proposals must be received in the NRCS Office in Warwick, RI by close of business on May 1, 2012. Applications must be sent or delivered to: USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Conservation Innovation Grants Program, 60 Quaker Lane, Suite 46, Warwick, RI 02886-0181 or may be submitted electronically through the Web site Grants.gov.
