$125,000 Available for Rhode Island State Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG)

Applications Will Be Accepted Through May 1, 2012

WARWICK, RI (April 3, 2012) -- The United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service of Rhode Island (USDA NRCS) is accepting applications for Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) to stimulate the development and adoption of innovative conservation approaches and technologies. Grants of up to $75,000 will be awarded through a competitive grants process with up to $125,000 to be awarded statewide.

Six CIG categories are available in Rhode Island: Nutrient Management; Energy Conservation; Soil Health; Wildlife; Urban and Small Farms; and Aquaculture. Applications are requested from eligible government or non-government organizations or individuals for competitive consideration of grant awards for projects between one and three years in duration. Applications will only be considered for projects in Rhode Island.

Proposals must be received in the NRCS Office in Warwick, RI by close of business on May 1, 2012.
