In early November, MLRA Soil Survey Leader Manuel Matos, MLRA Soil Scientist Samuel Rios, and Utuado District Conservationist Israel Vega, spent an afternoon with a group of Italian Baristas at the Hacienda San Pedro - an NRCS cooperator - in Jayuya, Puerto Rico.
The 15 Italian Baristas were participating in a 10-day reality show where they learned about all phases of Puerto Rico’s coffee production, conservation practices and management, and soils of the coffee region. Check it out in this YouTube video (http://youtu.be/zPTqpoChDWM):
