Range and Rangeland Management

Rangelands in the United States are diverse lands, including natural grasslands, savannas, shrublands, deserts, marches, alpine communities and meadows. These managed natural ecosystems are primarily composed of grasses, grass-like plants, forbs, or shrubs. The Plant Materials program works to provide plants and technology to protect and restore rangeland ecosystem function. Products developed assist the land manager in planning and implementing practices that provide wildlife habitat, clean water, and sustainable grazing.
