Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008 (2008 Farm Bill) programs offer landowners financial, and technical assistance to voluntarily implement conservation practices on privately owned land. These programs are specifically directed to reduce erosion, improve water quality, conserve water, enhance wetlands, retain agricultural lands and improve management on grazing lands and wildlife habitat.
Though authority to enroll new participants or enter new contracts for Farm Bill conservation programs expired on September 30, 2012, NRCS is currently accepting newenrollments for these programs under an extension of the 2008 Farm Bill.
