Program Information

The Greenhouse Gas Initiative (GHG) is offered in selected counties to support the Conservation Innovation Grant (CIG) project developed by the Delta Institute which has a goal of lowering on farm emissions through increased nutrient use efficiency.  The participating counties are Blaine, Canadian, Grant, Harmon, Jackson, and Major.   

Application Process, Eligibility and Evaluation Criteria

Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis, but only those received by the application ranking cut-off will be considered for the initial selections.  Funding selections will be made exclusively from those applications received.

Applicants may apply by completing the NRCS-CPA-1200 Application Form and Appendix and submit it to their local NRCS Field Service Center.

Eligible Practices and Payment Rates

The core practice for the GHG is Nutrient Management (590).  This core practice must be planned on all contracted acres.  Supporting practices may also be planned to address the air quality resource concern.  Supporting practices include conservation crop rotation (328), residue and tillage management no-till (329), and cover crop (340).
