FRPP 2002 Farm Bill Accomplishments
The following information outlines accomplishments and
statistics from implementation of the Farm and Ranch Lands Protection Program in
Oklahoma through the course of the 2002 Farm Bill (the Farm Security and Rural
Investment Act of 2002), and the 2008 Farm Bill (Food, Conservation, and Energy
Act of 2008).
Through the course of the program Oklahoma has worked with four different cooperating entities
and provided matching funds for the acquisitions of FRPP conservation easements
on 17 properties on a total of 1,975 acres located in the counties of Cleveland,
Comanche, Johnston, Oklahoma, and Rogers. These easements protect 1,153 acres of prime farmland.
USDA funding toward the purchase of the easements totaled $2,800,019. The total
acquisition cost for the conservation easements was $5,907,207.
