A rigid, semi-rigid, or flexible manufactured membrane, composite material or roof structure placed over a waste management facility.

Purposes and Benefits

  • Water quality improvement
  • Diversion of clean water from animal management areas (i.e., barnyard, feedlot or exercise area) and/or waste storage facilities
  • Capture of biogas for energy production
  • Reducing net effect of greenhouse gas emissions
  • Air quality improvement and odor reduction

This is a potential ground disturbing conservation practice. Any project with ground disturbing or potential ground disturbing practices planned may need to be submitted for review by the State Historic Preservation Officer and Tribal Historic Preservation Officers.
