Student Career Enhancement Program (SCEP)

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is recruiting students to participate in our Student Career Enhancement Program (SCEP). This program provides Federal employment opportunities to students who are enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, in a degree program. Students must be taking at least a half-time academic course load in an accredited 2 or 4-year college or university, graduate, or professional school.

Two Positions: Soil Conservationist and Civil Engineer

Opening Date: March 12, 2012

Closing Date: April 9, 2012

Salary: $14.03 - $15.70 per hour based on the number of college credits earned

Open to U.S. Citizens Only

Location: Students will be assigned to work at various training locations throughout the State of new Jersey. The locations will be determined following a review of the applications.

  1. Resume (include work experience even if wages were not received)
  2. Copy of current college transcript
  3. A list of courses in which currently enrolled, those planned for the Spring/Fall Semester of 2012, and your expected graduation date
  4. DD-214 if claiming veteran preference
