Jim Spielman is Selected as Assistant State Conservationist for Operations

Jim SpielmanAfter 29 years with the NRCS in New Hampshire and working in a number of different positions, Jim Spielman was selected this August as the Assistant State Conservationist for Operations.

Over the years, Jim has worked in Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire as a Soil Conservationist, District Conservationist, State Staff Forester and a Resource Conservationist for operations, technology and programs.

Jim grew up in Western Massachusetts and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from the University of Massachusetts and a Masters of Forest Science from Yale University.  His personal interests include fly fishing, hunting, skeet and sporting clays shooting, hiking, skiing, reading, traveling and enjoying time with family and friends. Jim resides in Durham with his wife Kathy. His daughter and son live in Rochester, NH and Norwood, Colorado, respectively.
