Saline and Salt-Affected Sites
Salt tolerance is the ability of a plant to endure excess salts in the soil. Plantings in saline soils require the use of plant species that can survive the salt levels at the site. The Plant Materials program evaluates plants for survival and growth in saline sites. These evaluations provide the information necessary for selecting plants that will be productive on saline sites.
