Invasive and Noxious Plants

The Plant Materials Program addresses the threat of invasive species to our natural resources by developing diverse plant communities of competitive plants and finding new technologies to address these resource concerns. Forest, rangeland and cropland production is reduced by invasive species. Streams and waterways are invaded so they no longer function and wildlife loses habitat. Plants and technology developed by the program allows land managers to control or suppress invasive species and to restore these areas with desirable species.
