Effective Presentations (000140)
Overview
This course provides participants with the keys skills necessary to
prepare and deliver effective presentations. The material addresses how to
deal with the fear of public speaking and how to use effective speaking
techniques and speaking aids. It also provides a ten-step method to
planning and delivering presentations. Substantial time will be allotted
for concentrated practice of your speaking skills and receipt of
personalized feedback for improvement in a supportive, non-threatening
environment. Participants will leave the session with an action plan for
continuing improvement of their presentation skills.
Objectives
Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:
- Properly introduce a speaker.
- Define and explain the different types of speeches.
- Develop an effective speaking style.
- Demonstrate speaker responsibility and professionalism.
- Utilize Toastmaster's ten-step method in the delivery of
presentations.
- Demonstrate effective public speaking techniques.
- Demonstrate proper use of presentation aids.
- Read the non-verbal communication of the audience.
- Develop an action plan for future self-development of public
speaking skills in line with individual job requirements.

Target Audience
Employees who are called upon to make oral presentations to various
groups.
