2013 EQIP Fire Recovery Initiative

 

Overview

Since June 30, 2012 over 350,000 acres of agriculture and forest lands have been damaged by wildfires.  Many landowners are faced with making plans for wildfire recovery

NRCS is offering technical and financial assistance to landowners impacted by wildfires throughout Montana.  Funding has been set aside to assist with grazing deferment, weed control, critical area plantings, and in some instances livestock fencing.

Landowners impacted by recent wildfires are encouraged to contact their local field office.

Applications are accepted throughout the year. The 2013 funding cycle has now closed. Any applications received will be considered in 2014.

  • 472 Access Control
  • 342 Critical Area Seeding
  • 382 Fence*
  • 315 Herbaceous Weed Control

* Fence is not eligible for payment in counties approved for Emergency Conservation Program (ECP) under this initiative.
