Plant Materials Center Earth Team Volunteer Group: NRCS Plant Materials Specialist Jerry Kaiser needed a helping hand.  With a 56-foot-long high tunnel on the grounds of the Elsberry Plant Materials Center, Kaiser needed a group who could plant vegetables, tend to the garden and then deliver the produce to a local charity on behalf of the federal food drive, Feds Feed Families. Area 1 Earth Team Individual Volunteer: The Earth Team program is a wonderful opportunity for both high school and college students and allows for the opportunity to intern with NRCS and decide if a career in conservation is something they might be interested in pursuing.  Several Nodaway County Earth Team volunteers have become full time employees with NRCS or the Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD).  READ MORE

Area 1 Earth Team Group Volunteer: An Earth Team volunteer group comprised of 43 adults assisted in Ray County’s first-ever Progressive Agriculture Safety Day in late 2015.  The large informational program is provided throughout the United States, Canada, and U.S. territories. READ MORE

Area 3 Earth Team Individual Volunteer: Currently taking online courses in St. Francois County, Dan Dominick needs 90 hours of internship experience to put toward his degree. As an Earth Team volunteer in the Farmington NRCS field office, Dominick earns credit hours while also receiving hands-on, real world experience. READ MORE

Area 3 Earth Team Group Volunteer: An increasing number of people are excited about what cover crops and no-till can do for the soil health of their farms.  Out of this, the Missouri Delta Soil Health Alliance, an Earth Team volunteer group, was formed more than two years ago. READ MORE
