Subject: TCH – Section IV of eFOTG
 

Purpose: Announcing revisions and additions to Section IV – B. Conservation Practices of eFOTG.

Expiration Date: September 30, 2010

Background: Standards and associated documents updated in alignment with National Practice Standard updates.

Explanation:

The updated Deep Tillage Conservation Practice Standard (Code 324), Statement of Work, and new Job Sheet have been issued to eFOTG.

Significant Changes: Conditions Where Practice Applies. This specifically states that this practice does not apply to normal tillage practices to prepare a seedbed. This change has been made to the Deep Tillage Conservation Practice Standard.

The updated Filter Strip Conservation Practice Standard (Code 393), Statement of Work, new Job Sheet and corresponding National Agronomy Technical Note 2 have been issued to eFOTG.

Significant Changes: Purposes. The number of purposes has been reduced from seven to three. One of the purposes eliminated was filtering runoff containing agricultural wastes.
General Criteria Applicable to All Purposes. A maximum gradient has been set. All these changes have been made to the Filter Strip Conservation Practice Standard.
