Subject: TCH – Section II of eFOTG

Purpose. To announce changes to Section II of eFOTG and Netmeeting training sessions.

Expiration Date. September 30, 2011

There will be two Netmeeting training sessions held to review changes to the salmon/sturgeon matrix, ME-ECS-1 form, and reporting requirements. The Netmeetings will be held on February 23 and February 24 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm respectively. These Netmeeting training sessions are mandatory for District Conservationists, or their designee, whose area of responsibility fall within the range of the Gulf of Maine Distinct Population Segment of Atlantic salmon and shortnose sturgeon. We strongly recommend that each affected field office have at least one representative attend.

eFOTG Changes:

  1. The Conservation Practice Matrix for Consultation – Salmon and Sturgeon document has been modified. Changes to the matrix are from section 7 Endangered Species Act (ESA) consultations.
     
  2. ME-ECS-1 form, dated February 2011, was revised to incorporate needed changes due to the section 7 ESA consultations referenced above.

    Both of these documents are located in eFOTG under Section II – D. Threatened and Endangered Species – Conservation Planning. After receiving these revised documents, archive older versions.
     
  3. The State and Federal listed animals, federally listed plants, and animals of special concern document was updated to include Atlantic sturgeon. The Atlantic sturgeon has been proposed to be listed in Maine under the federal ESA as a threatened species.

    This revised document is located under Section II – D. Threatened and Endangered Species – ME Species Lists in eFOTG.

Also attached are instructions for joining the audio/visual Netmeetings.
