The Agricultural Act of 2014 establishes the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP).
It repeals FRPP, GRP, and WRP but does not affect the validity or terms of any FRPP, GRP, or WRP contract, agreement or easement entered into prior to the date of enactment on February 7, 2014 or any associated payments required to be made in connection with an existing FRPP, GRP, or WRP contract, agreement or easement.
Below are some of the eligibility requirements for participants and land. Please call your local NRCS office to discuss your specific situation.
Requirements for participants:
WRP participants must:
be an individual, entity or joint operation.
be in compliance with the highly erodible land and wetland conservation (HELC) provisions of the Food Security Act of 1985.
have an average Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of $1 million dollars or less.
Requirements for land:
Land enrolled in WRP must:
be privately owned. Publicly owned lands are noteligible for WRP.
have been owned by the applicant for a minimum of seven years at the time of application.
be degraded wetlands that have been used or are currently being used for the production of food or fiber and where the hydrology can be restored; or riparian areas linking protected wetlands that are less than one mile apart.
have the potential to have the hydrology restored.
