The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has announced May 16th as the next cut-off date for funding under the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP). All eligible and complete applications received by that date will be evaluated and ranked for available funding. Massachusetts is slated to receive approximately $3 million in EQIP funding authorized under the new 2014 Farm Bill.

That’s exactly what the Massachusetts Envirothon environmental education program for high school students has been doing this school year. And those students are headed to Leominster on Thursday, May 15th to show how much they’ve learned.
