Public meeting slated to discuss plans to upgrade six dams in Berlin, Northborough, Shrewsbury, Marlborough and Stow

The Hop Brook Dam in Northborough, Mass.Local residents and other interested parties are invited to attend a public meeting to discuss and submit comments on proposed plans to upgrade six dams in the Sudbury-Assabet-Concord (SuAsCo) rivers watershed. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Berlin Town Hall, 23 Linden Street, Room 227, Berlin, Mass.


USDA seeks public comment to improve access to critical programs

USDA logoThe U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is asking for public comment as it reviews existing program rules to determine whether any should be modified, streamlined, clarified, or repealed to improve access to USDA programs. The intent is to minimize burdens on individuals, businesses and communities attempting to access programs that promote economic growth, create jobs, and protect the health and safety of the American people.


Bristol County Conservation District seeks input on natural resource concerns

The Bristol County Conservation District is seeking the input of farmers, landowners, municipal conservation commissions, agricultural commissions, boards of health, soil boards, water districts, environmental coordinators, land trusts, watershed alliances and environmental organizations to help identify conservation needs, critical natural resources and geographic areas of concern for a natural resource assessment of Bristol County, Mass. All interested parties are invited to join the BCCD at a meeting which will be held at on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, 6:00 pm at the BCCD office located at 84 Center St., 2nd floor, Dighton, Mass. (across from Bristol County Agricultural High School).
