The mission of the Capital RC&D Council is toenhance the quality of life in Southeast Louisiana through conservation of natural & cultural resources, while stimulating economic growth.
Our vision is to provide economic and conservation opportunities to Southeast Louisiana’s urban and rural communities in balance with the environment.
Promote agriculture diversification and forest product utilization, develop markets and create business development opportunities.
Increase recreation development, promote the tourism industry and create business development opportunities.
Promote the installation of proper waste disposal systems and erosion control systems to improve water quality.
Promote quality education programs and facilities within the region.
Decrease or mitigate the incidence of flood damage occurring in rural, urban areas through the development or implementation of programs such as the emergency watershed protection program for the construction, repair, and improvement of dams, reservoirs and levees.
