ANIMAL WASTE MANAGEMENT FIELD HANDBOOK (NEH Part 651)

SUBJECT: ENG – National Engineering Handbook (NEH), Part 651, Agricultural Waste Management Field Handbook (AWMFH)
Purpose. To release a Roof Runoff design spreadsheet and cancel existing supplements related to gutter and downspout design
Effective Date: Upon receipt.
Explanation of Changes. A Roof Runoff Structure design spreadsheet has been developed and approved for use. Major functions include:
County-specific rainfall data
Capacity for many gutter styles and sizes, including user designated size
Automatically fills out appropriate standard drawings and design documentation details
This notice cancels Illinois AWMFH supplement IL10-2(1) through IL IL10-2(2). All gutter and downspout designs from this date forward will use the design spreadsheet released with this Notice.
The Illinois NRCS engineering website will be updated to include the new spreadsheet at http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/detail/il/technical/engineering/?cid=nrcs141p2_030572.
Filing Instructions. Holders of hard copy Agricultural Waste Management Field Handbook binders should:
Discard or archive AWMFH supplements IL10-2(1) through IL IL10-2(2).
Replace the AWMFH Table of Contents dated 8-19-10 with the attached Table of Contents.
