SUBJECT: ENG – National Engineering Handbook (NEH), Part 645, Engineering Technical Materials

Purpose. To distribute revised and new IL-ENG standard drawings and announce a change in drawing formats.

Effective Date. Upon receipt.

Explanation of Changes. This notice distributes 4 new and 2 revised standard engineering drawings. The major highlight of this release is four new standard designs for the denitrifying bioreactor – Interim Conservation Practice Code 747, which will be added to the Illinois FOTG during Fiscal Year 2013.

This notice also announces a change in the way Illinois NRCS standard drawings with multiple pages will be presented. Previously, each page was prepared in a separate digital file. Moving forward, drawings with multiple pages will be contained in a single file to streamline user access. This transition will take place over a period of time, with new drawings developed in the new format, and existing drawings with multiple pages to be converted to single files and distributed in batches. Three formats will be supported: .dwg, .pdf, and .dxf.

The Illinois NRCS engineering website will be revised to reflect the updated drawings:

Filing Instructions. Optional. Holders of hardcopy Illinois Engineering Drawing binders should:
