SUBJECT:  ENG – National Engineering Handbook (NEH), Part 645, Engineering Technical Materials

Purpose:  To distribute revised and new IL-ENG standard drawings

Expiration Date:  Upon receipt

Explanation: This notice distributes 11 revised and 9 new standard engineering drawings. Major highlights include:

  • Updated cover sheet which can be used for design documentation or construction plans
  • New fillable drawings for terrace checkout, underground outlet checkout, farmstead energy improvement, combustion system improvement, amendments for treatment of agricultural waste, and waste treatment (modular floating cover)
  • New drawings: additional options for relief wells, quick coupler detail for stockwatering pipeline/watering facility, and turf reinforcement mat chute
  • Clarifications of materials for modular block structures and culvert outlet scour basin

The Illinois NRCS engineering website will be revised to reflect the updated drawings:

Filing Instructions:

Optional. Holders of hardcopy Illinois Engineering Drawing binders should:

  1. Replace Numerical Index dated 9/2011 with the new Numerical Index (attached) dated 4/2012.
  2. Replace Category Index dated 9/2011 with the new Category Index (attached) dated 4/2012.
  3. Print copies of the new and revised drawings (attached)
  4. Follow instructions on attached distribution listing of new drawings, filing in IL-ENG Drawing binder.
