SUBJECT:  National Engineering Handbook Part 650, Engineering Field Handbook

Purpose:  To distribute an addition to the Illinois preapproved construction materials list.

Expiration Date:  Upon receipt.

Explanation:

This notice distributes an additional preapproved source of smooth interior corrugated polyethylene tubing (dual wall) for use in fills. The attached Illinois Supplement to the Engineering Field Handbook (EFH) IL 17-2.4 provides details for minimum and maximum fill height, based on backfill and compaction class. This pipe material is not approved for vertical or riser installations.

The Illinois NRCS engineering website will be updated to include the updated Illinois supplements at www.il.nrcs.usda.gov/technical/engineer/EFH-SupNotes/EFH-suplmnts.html. This supplement will also be posted to the NRCS eDirectives website at http://directives.sc.egov.usda.gov/.
 

Filing Instructions:

Holders of hardcopy Engineering Field Handbook binders should:

  1. Discard existing page 17-2.4.
  2. Print out the attached supplement on green paper and file in the EFH, after page 17-2.3.
