SUBJECT:  National Engineering Handbook Part 650, Engineering Field Handbook

Purpose:  To supplement EFH Chapter 16 with a Streambank Protection Permit Guide.

Expiration Date:  Upon receipt.

Explanation: This notice provides guidance to determine the types of permits that may be needed for construction of streambank protection projects. The Illinois NRCS engineering website will be updated to include the new Illinois supplement at http://www.il.nrcs.usda.gov/technical/engineer/EFH-SupNotes/EFH-suplmnts.html

Filing Instructions:

Holders of hardcopy Engineering Field Handbook binders should:

  1. Print out the attached supplement on green paper and file in the EFH, after page 16-1.
  2. Print out the attached table of contents and file at the beginning of the EFH.

Discard the old version of the table of contents.

Any questions regarding this submittal should be directed to the Area Engineer.
