SUBJECT: National Engineering Handbook Part 645, Engineering Technical Materials

Purpose:  To distribute revised and new IL-ENG standard drawings related to grazing practices

Expiration Date:  Upon receipt

Explanation: 49 distributes 11 revised and 24 new standard engineering drawings. Major highlights include:

  • All fence drawings previously posted in Section IV, FOTG have been incorporated into the engineering drawing collection. The drawings will be removed from the FOTG and replaced with a link to the engineering drawing website.
  • Significant detail has been added to the fence drawings to aid proper construction.
  • All existing engineering drawings related to grazing (with the exception of the winter feeding stations) have been renumbered to group with the new fence drawings.

A summary of all updates is included on the attached distribution list.

The Illinois NRCS engineering website will be revised to reflect the updated drawings:

Filing Instructions:

All holders of Illinois Engineering Drawing binders should:

  1. Replace Numerical Index dated 9/1/2010 with the new Numerical Index (attached), dated 11/2010.
  2. Replace Category Index dated 9/1/2010 with the new Category Index (attached), dated 11/2010.
  3. Print copies of the new and revised drawings, available on the website. Follow instructions on attached distribution listing of new drawings, filing in IL-ENG Drawing binder.
