SUBJECT:  National Engineering Handbook Part 645, Engineering Technical Materials

Purpose:  To distribute revised and new IL-ENG standard drawings

Expiration Date:  Upon receipt.

Explanation: This notice distributes 12 revised and 5 new standard engineering drawings. Major highlights of this drawing release include:

  • Revision to 8" x 11" format for selected standard forms and drawings
  • Addition of Livestock Trail standard drawing to support Conservation Practice Standard 575 – Animal Trails and Walkways
  • Addition of perimeter drain details on concrete tank facilities (perimeter drain details will be added to more drawings in a subsequent release)
  • Addition of waterway length and stations on the checkout form.

A summary of all updates is included on the attached distribution list.

The Illinois NRCS engineering website will be revised to reflect the updated drawings: Copies of the drawings are included as attachments to this distribution. They may be downloaded from the website as needed.

Filing Instructions:

All holders of Illinois Engineering Drawing binders should:

  1. Replace Numerical Index dated 10/1/2009 with the new Numerical Index (attached), dated 1/1/2010.
  2. Replace Category Index dated 10/1/2009 with the new Category Index (attached), dated 1/1/2010.
  3. Follow instructions on attached distribution listing of new drawings, filing in IL-ENG Drawing binder.
