SUBJECT:  National Engineering Handbook Part 645, Engineering Technical Materials

Purpose:  To distribute new and revised IL-ENG drawings.

Expiration Date:  Upon receipt.

Explanation: This notice distributes 14 new and 6 revised standard engineering drawings. Included with this release are drawings for a concrete compost bin with roof, roof gutter and downspout details, pipeline thrust block details, an aluminum toewall structure with 5 – 6 feet overfall, and a Type II inlet for underground outlet. A summary of all updates and new drawings is included on the attached distribution list. One drawing, IL-ENG-71, has been deleted.

The Illinois NRCS engineering website will be revised to reflect the new, updated and deleted drawings: http://www.il.nrcs.usda.gov/technical/engineer/enggdraw.html.

Filing Instructions:

All holders of Illinois Engineering Drawing binders should:

  1. Replace Numerical Index dated 4/1/2008 with the new Numerical Index (attached), dated 11/5/2008.
  2. Replace Category Index dated 4/1/2008 with the new Category Index (attached), dated 11/5/2008.
  3. Follow instructions on attached distribution listing of new, revised and deleted drawings, filing in IL-ENG Drawing binder.
