Florida Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative (GLCI)
The Grazing Land Conservation Initiative (GLCI) is a producer-led effort to enhance the management and health of private grazing lands. NRCS provides financial and technical assistance to landowners to support improved management of Florida’s grazing land resources. In addition, the GLCI works to develop strategies to address new resource concerns and remove barriers to assist stewards of Florida’s grazing lands achieve their management and natural resource conservation goals. The result of the GLCI activities to date has been the creation of training courses for private landowners/managers, NRCS employees, and other interested individuals. GLCI has also been successful in assisting landowners apply new technology to improve livestock production efficiency while maintaining or improving their natural resources.
