Invasive Plant Management Assistance
Through the Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program
The USDA's Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP) is a program to help private and public landowners who wish to develop and protect wildlife habitat on their property. When you apply for assistance through WHIP, recommendations for wildlife habitat management will be offered; and financial assistance for high ranking management projects may be available. In Connecticut, control of invasive plants in areas with significant wildlife habitat is one of several wildlife habitat priorities for
WHIP (the program is not for backyard wildlife habitat improvements). For backyard habitats, NRCS has teamed up with other partners to offer tip sheets on management through the Backyard Conservation Campaign.
