Tracie and Jeremy Kitchen have an 80 acre farm near Lewisville. Prior to their knowledge of the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), they found it hard to effectively graze their farm. With NRCS’s help they were able to take their ideas and begin building a rotational grazing system.
With EQIP funding, the Kitchens’s have installed the fencing and water systems that will allow them to better utilize their farm for grazing. Along with these improvements, they have made soil amendments that will enhance plant productivity. These steps will allow them to better graze their land and increase stock density, which will help their farm’s productivity.
