Alabama CSP Cropping Criteria Options 2012

1.       A perennial grass grown at least 2 years with at least one other crop in the rotation:

Examples:
a. Corn grain, 1yr., Fescue 2 yr. or more.
b. Cotton, 1 yr., Fescue 2 yr. or more.
c. Soybean, 1yr, Bahiagrass 2 yr. or more.
d. Peanut, 1 yr., Bahiagrass 2 yr. or more.
e. Pumpkins, 1 yr., Bahiagrass 2 yr. or more.

OR;

2.     A legume that is grown at least 2 years with at least one other crop in the rotation:

Examples:
a. Corn grain, 1 yr., Alfalfa 2 yr. or more.
b. Cotton, 1 yr., Alfalfa 2 yr. or more.
c. Tomatoes, 1 yr., Sericea lespedeza 2 yr. or more.
d. Sweet corn, 1 yr., Sericea lespedeza 2 yr. or more.

OR;

3.     A legume-grass mixture that is grown at least 2 years with at least one other crop in the rotation:

Examples:
a. Corn Silage, 1 yr., Fescue/White Clover, 2yr. or more.
b. Cotton, 1 yr., Fescue/White Clover, 2yr. or more.
c. Corn grain, 1 yr., Bahiagrass/White Clover, 2yr. or more.
d. Tomatoes, 1 yr., Bahiagrass/White Clover, 2yr. or more.

OR;

4.     A small grain grown in combination with a grass or legume that is used as a green manure, whether interseeded or planted after small grain harvest with at least two other crops in the rotation.

Examples:
a. Corn (grain) 1 yr., Wheat harvested rdl., Pearl Millet summer cover crop not harvested; winter fallow; Cotton 1 yr.
b. Corn (grain) 1 yr., Wheat harvested rdl., Crimson clover cover crop not harvested; Cotton 1 yr.
c. Corn (grain) 1 yr., Peanuts 1 yr., Wheat harvested 1 yr. rdl., Sunnhemp summer cover crop not harvest, Rye cover crop not harvested.
d. Corn, 1 yr., Wheat harvested 1 yr. rdl., Pearl Millet summer cover crop not harvested; winter fallow; Soybeans 1 yr.
