Employees and guests celebrated Black History Month in the state office conference room in February.  The theme of this year’s celebration was “Black Women in American Culture and History.”

Greg Dansby, Black Emphasis Program Manager, welcomed the group to the event. Also contributing to the program were Alice Love, Alton Harris, Marty Bright-Rivera, and Darnae Hopkins.

Guest speaker, Dr. Sophia Bracy Harris, Executive Director of the Federation of Child Care Center of Alabama (FOCAL), spoke to the group about the roles of black women in America.

The event ended with a luncheon of soul food favorites that highlighted southern cooking at its best.
