Subject:  FNM – Authorization to attend Cultural Heritage Meeting on December 6, 2012, in Montgomery, AL

Purpose:   To notify Alabama NRCS employees of approved attendance for the AIAN Cultural Heritage Meeting, December 6, 2012. 

Expiration Date:  September 30, 2013

The purpose of the Cultural Heritage Meeting is to offer NRCS employees Cultural Awareness Information.  This meeting will emphasize the  American Indian Heritage Month.  The goal of cultural transformation is to get everyone. at every grade level, in every location working together ensure USDA is a place where there’s equity of opportunity for all employees and everyone who works here is empowered to reach their full potential.

Expiration Date:  September 30, 2013

This Bulletin authorizes the following employees to attend with no travel authorized.  Ride sharing is recommended.

Charles Love, Teresa Paglione, Joe Gardinski, and the DC, SC, and SCT from the following counties: Montgomery, Elmore, Dallas, Butler, Crenshaw, Pike, Bullock, Macon, Wilcox, Perry, Chilton, Autauga, and Lowndes.

Every NRCS employee is encouraged to participate in a contest to make a Dream Catcher.  This contest is to celebrate American Indian Heritage Month.  The dream catchers will be judged by a committee on December 6.  The judging will be held after the meeting in Montgomery at the USDA Building on 4121 Carmichael Road on the 2nd floor of the USDA Training Room.  The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at noon.

If your name is not on the list, you may attend if your travel time one-way does not exceed 1.5 hours.  Please email Wendy Smith at wendy.smith@al.usda.gov if you plan to attend.
