I am the American Indian/Alaska Native (AIAN) Special Emphasis Program Manager (SEPM) for Alabama and I serve on the Alabama State Civil Rights Advisory Committee. I look forward to working with you as the AIAN SEPM. 

The AIAN SEPM position is a co-lateral duty created by NRCS policy to provide equal employment opportunities for American Indian/Alaska Natives in all personnel management policies and practices and also for NRCS sponsored programs and activities.

Program Objectives

Objectives of the American Indian/Alaska Native Special Emphasis Program include:

  • Support the unique role of American Indians and Alaskan Natives within the Federal Government system.
  • Recruit potential American Indian/Alaskan Native employees.
  • Build coalitions with appropriate advocacy groups that support the NRCS mission.
  • Encourage the participation of American Indian and Alaska Natives in all NRCS sponsored programs and activities.
