New NRCS Bobwhite Restoration Project Website

The NRCS Agricultural Wildlife Conservation Center has announced a new website for the USDA -NRCS Bobwhite Restoration Project.  The project, in its last year, was initiated by the Agricultural Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC) and Managed by Mississippi State University (MSU).  It encompasses 11 individual projects in nine States across the northern bobwhite’s range and is intended to elicit recommendations to help NRCS improve conservation practices implemented on private lands to improve habitat for northern bobwhite and other wildlife.

Project reports and other products are being sent to MSU for editing and preparation. In addition to technology development, the reports will also have wildlife response data for early successional birds, butterflies, and other wildlife for use by the Conservation Effects Assessment Project.

The AWCC, in cooperation with MSU, will also produce a video that highlights the findings and the relationships between disciplines such as foresters, rangeland specialists, grazingland specialists, and soil scientists.  It will additionally feature the work done at NRCS workshops.
