Over 1,200 federally employed women and others recently gathered in Washington for the FEW national training program and presentation of the National Federally Employed Women’s Federal Department/Agency Award to Nebraska NRCS for their chapter’s support of FEW training programs and two Mid-Continent Regional Training Programs.  NRCS represented nearly half of overall attendance at the two Nebraska Regional Training Programs.

Nebraska’s Federal Women Special Emphasis Program Manager Stacy Modelski, and FEW Mid-Continent Regional Manager Joan Chopp joined Nebraska NRCS State Conservationist Steve Chick to receive the award.

In November of 2006 the Nebraska NRCS Civil Rights Committee hosted the FEW National President, Executive Vice President, and National Vice President for Diversity to Nebraska’s Civil Rights Committee meeting to provide information on how to reach, employ, and retain minority employees.  Last year a national civil rights review conducted in Nebraska resulted in no agreed-to-items, which speaks very highly of the efforts of our Civil Rights Committee and managers.
