Judith Doerner Honored at SWCS

Vermont NRCS State Conservationist Judith Doerner was recently honored with the Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) President’s Leadership Award for her work as chair of the SWCS Leadership Development Committee that conducted the annual chapter awards program and two successful leadership development and conservation leadership workshops.  The presentation took place in Tampa, Florida, at the Soil and Water Conservation Society’s 2007 Annual Conference awards luncheon.

Serving in a variety of positions with NRCS including Senior Partnership Policy and Program Coordinator in Washington, D.C., and Operations Partnership Liaison in the East Region in Beltsville, Maryland, Ms. Doerner brings over 28 years of experience in natural resources conservation to SWCS.   She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in French from Thiel College and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Syracuse University.

Founded in 1943, SWCS is a nonprofit scientific and educational organization that serves as an advocate for professional, science-based conservation practices, programs, and policies.  SWCS has over 5,000 members world-wide representing many different public, private, and nonprofit institutions and many academic disciplines.
