NRCS State Conservationists converged on Washington DC last week to attend the National Leadership Team Meeting. They heard from a number of Department, NRCS, and partner organization leadership including Chief Lancaster, Associate Chief Dana York, USDA Deputy Secretary Chuck Conner, USDA Chief Economist Dr. Keith Collins, USDA Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment Mark Rey, Deputy Under Secretary for Natural Resources and Environment Gary Mast, NACD Chief Executive Officer Krysta Harden, Soil and Water Conservation Society Executive Director Craig Cox, and Congressional Research Service Specialist in Natural Resources Policy Jeff Zinn.

Panels, break-out sessions, and presentations and exhibits by the Legislative and Public Affairs Division (LPAD) ran concurrently on Wednesday, July 11.  Additionally, demonstrations of the Web Soil Survey, COMET-VR, Soil Climate Analysis Network, Ecological Site Information System, salinity tools and mapping, CanVis (image editing software); and the Wind Erosion Prediction System were also highlighted.
