NRCS recently provided the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska and Iowa with a land resource map of their reservation lands. A similar map was also presented to the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. Tribal leaders indicated the map, coupled with other land and water information, will aid the Tribe in better managing their lands. NRCS nationwide works in a “government to government” role on soil and water conservation activities and cultural resources identification requested by the tribes across the country.
