NRCS staff from Fort Collins, Colorado; National Headquarters; and the Riverside, California area office recently participated at the 2006 Commodity Classic in Anaheim, California. Exhibits, continuous loop DVDs, and computer stations with large screen monitors were used by the participants to familiarize show-goers with web-based tools and technology like the Web Soil Survey, Energy Estimator – Nitrogen, Energy Estimator – Tillage, the USDA Customer Statement, and the Electronic Field Office Technical Guide. Farm media were on hand to conduct interviews with NRCS technical staff.

Secretary Johanns mentioned some of the new web-based tools like the Web Soil Survey and the Nitrogen Energy Estimator in his presentation to the Commodity Classic general session.
