Chief Knight Discusses Climate Change in South America

This week, Chief Bruce Knight outlined for delegates from around the world what the U.S. Department of Agriculture is doing to address climate change. Knight spoke at the Tenth Session of the Conference of Parties (COP 10) in Buenos Aires, Argentina. COP 10 marks the 10th anniversary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

In addition to the accomplishments of the past 10 years and future challenges, discussions at COP 10 highlight a range of climate-related issues including, the impacts of climate change and adaptation measures, mitigation policies and their impacts, and technology. Participants also will take stock of the entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol. Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs Paula Dobriansky heads the U.S. delegation.
