Progressive Farmer Idea House and Farmstead

Progressive Farmer Magazine’s Idea House and Farmstead in Murfreesboro, Tennessee

Progressive Farmer Magazine’s Idea House and Farmstead in Murfreesboro, Tennessee

NRCS conservationists in Tennessee will soon get an opportunity to reach out to visitors with Backyard Conservation messages -- literally in the backyard of Progressive Farmer Magazine’s Idea House and Farmstead in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Progressive Farmer Magazine has invited NRCS conservationists to be on hand to explain Backyard Conservation and the many other conservation practices and programs offered by the agency to visitors -- anticipated to number in the thousands -- during the Idea House and Farmstead open house June 10, to September 5, 2004.

The Idea House and Farmstead will serve as a demonstration model to the migration of conservation-minded urban dwellers that have moved to more rural areas of Tennessee over the past decade. Idea House and Farmstead plans call for a house, barn, pond, orchard, wildlife area, fenced pasture, garden, and other practices. The open house is scheduled to coincide with the Tennessee Walking Horse Celebration and Country Music Fan Fair so thousands of visitors are expected from all over the U. S.  For additional information, visit the Idea House and Farmstead website at http://www.progressivefarmer.com/farmer/house/index.html.
