Two New Conservation Assistance Programs
Two new programs Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA) and Soil and Water Conservation Assistance (SWCA)--are part of a continuing effort to provide agricultural producers with conservation assistance. Both programs allow farmers and ranchers to receive financial assistance for voluntarily making conservation part of the way they do business. Agricultural Management Assistance (AMA) provides cost-share payments to agricultural producers to voluntarily address issues such as water management, water quality, and erosion control by incorporating conservation into their farming operations. A fact sheet explains how AMA works and lists eligibility requirements. Additional information is provided through questions and answers. Soil and Water Conservation Assistance (SWCA) provides cost share and incentive payments to farmers and ranchers to voluntarily address threats to soil, water, and related natural resources—including grazing land, wetlands, and wildlife habitat. A fact sheet explains how SWCA works and lists eligibility requirements. Additional information is provided through questions and answers. |
