Employment Trends
Four Facts on Women Workers:
Women account for 46% of the total national labor workforce in 1995.
Within 1995, women represented 42.9% of the federal workforce (excluding
postal services).
The ratio of women's median weekly earnings to men's in 1995 was 75.5%.
Employment and earning rates rise with educational attainment for both
men and women but earnings are on an average 27.6% lower for women
with various levels of college courses than for males with the same
education.
How Are We Doing?
The NRCS employs approximately 11,000 permanent employees of
which 72.5% (8,082) are males and 27.5% (3,061) are females. The Professional,
Administrative, Technical, Clerical, and Other (PATCO) distributions
